Yaoi Released in 2019

This article lists the Yaoi and related Bara, and Shounen-ai materials that were released in 2019. For the calendar year of January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019 the first entry of each format is featured and listed chronologically by the month each began to be released.

From the various stories occurring within each format there may be unfamiliar terms involved throughout them. The series cover many different genres of which artwork can, but not always reflect. 2019 Series[]

Yaoi stories were released across eight formats throughout 2019. For anime that began to air for the first time, first up were the minutes long episodes for Papa datte, Shitai in January, to adapt the manga which began in 2017. A significant series overall is Hyperventilation where the manhwa from 2017 could be adapted into minute long episodes for this year. With Given having eleven episodes at twenty two minutes for each one this constituted an anime season which adapted the manga that first began in 2013. While it would not be released this year, Given would have further anime in the follow up movie released in 2020. The anime released for 2019 were minute long features and an industry standard anime season with no Category:OVA's or ONA's made.

For games released in 2019 there was Omega Vampire available which was added for the Nintendo Switch. Where the format has not wavered, visual novel games can now enjoy being shared on further gaming platforms.

There were continuous releases for Japanese manga. From its beginning near the very end of December 2019, Our Not So Lonely Planet Travel Guide would go on to have four volumes released. Where The Titan's Bride was founded this year that would go on to have five volumes released over years, then anime and drama CD adaptions in 2020. With a character becoming male and the relationship that develops, Kuro Gal ni Natta kara Shinyuu to shitemita. is classed as yaoi and one that would have anime developed in 2021.

Regarding first availability, the Kawa ni Sazanami was formally published in 2022, yet since it was released first in 2019 on the author's Twitter account this year would count as the first time it was available hence the image's inclusion here for the series. It is a similar scenario for Mask Danshi wa Koishitakunai noni being first available on pixiv before having a manga release in 2020.

The series Soutai Flight Sign first released in 2017 would have a spin-off series named Soujou Fly Again. Another series Cupid ni Rakurai: Tsuigeki released in February of this year continues from the prequel Cupid ni Rakurai again from 2017. A spin-off series from that is Kanshakudama no Love Song.. Another sequel was Namaiki na Otouto wo Itooshimu Houhou which follows on from Kawaikunai Aniki wo Aegasu Houhou released in 2017. First available in April, Neko x Neko: Beginning continues the Neko x Neko story from 2018. After Romance Isn't Allowed! was released in 2016, there would be a sequel named There's No Way We're Madly in Love! available in 2017. The characters' story from those manga would continue this year in April with Dekiai nante Mitomemasen!. It would include the one-shot titled Uchi no Tama wa Challenger.. A related manga is Koi to Kedama to Otonari-san.

The Fudanshi Shoukan: Isekai de Shinjuu ni Hameraremashita manga in June would receive a number of short anime adaptions at minutes each later in 2020, in addition to a drama CD in 2021. Where Green Apple Paradise was released in 2018, Green Apple Paradise Season 2 was made available this year which has novels released for the series in 2021. The Season 2 manhwa was released this year where the novels for the first manhwa season were available in February 2020. While two chapters are available, Spice! is an example of a series that has gone on hiatus.

It is also Chinese manhua that would provide distinguished yaoi series. A particularly notable manhua would have first been released in October 2019 and where it was known by a number of hardly related names such as "Jingjiu", to "Salad Days" an official English release of Pirouette into My Heart would bring this series to further prominence.

Korean manhwa continue to be exceptionally popular. Mr. 100% Perfect is a notable series that has had multiple seasons. Where My Suha is as well, that has reached over 100 chapters since its beginning from this year. Obey Me was another noteworthy series that commenced in March. It was in 2019 that one of the most popular yaoi series of all, Painter of the Night would begin in May. This manhwa remains so as of 2023. Further notable series arising from 2019 are Pian Pian, where How to Snag an Alpha is also a well known omegaverse story. The XX Partner manhwa adapts the novel released before in 2018.

For web novels the Define the Relationship series would begin their release this year. Resulting in three novels, and three side story novels, the series would be adapted into manhwa in 2021. The novel series The Affairs of the Other World Depend on the Corporate Slave would have its first book and foundation to a manhwa in 2020 established in February. The Beta Off Not Dating novel released this year would have a manhwa adaption in 2021.

Stories continue to be depicted in webtoons. Examples are Blood of the Sun, a supernatural series, and the comedy Engineer x Black Market Seller. The Tell Me It's Real webtoon adapts an audio book first available in 2014.

Where anime can be released and concluded within a year, then with drama CDs, books, and games often being a single release on a set date, print material chapters are released over time. Accordingly a manga series for instance can be released in one year to be finished in a later one. A series can have a different commencing year for a print release, but share a year of release, 2019 in this case.
