Story[]
One day a massive red stone was seen falling to a central mountain range of the Orr Empire which filled the whole world with a strange energy. After that event, some people began manifesting strange powers. A child could split rocks with tree branches, and in another case a village maiden annihilated a group of monsters. These new awakened powers did not distinguish between age, gender, class, or bloodline. As a result, the world's structure which had remained unchanged for over a thousand years began to shift.
A tense atmosphere hung between those who were currently holding political based power and authority and those with these newly acquired powers. The leaders of various countries were suddenly faced with a dilemma. The Orr Empire responded by summoning those with awakened powers to the capital. If those with power could prove it, and swear to use it only for the Empire and Emperor then they would be granted the right to join the Cavalry. The news spread to a secluded mountain village where Yuther received the message.
Eleven years later, Yuther is thirty one and on trial for supposedly abandoning his duties as the commander of the Cavalry. Further, he is said to have trespassed into the Forbidden Sanctuary and attempted to steal the World Sphere (the name for the red stone). The charges include that Yuther intervened in incidents such as the assassination of the Duke of Peletta nine years ago, and took part in the destruction of the Jinju Toiwer seven years ago. Taking part in the Red Field Rebellion five years ago, for the sake of the world are also read out.
To himself, Yuther thinks how there were signs that something bad was about to happen to the world. His claims fell on deaf ears, and presently Yuther is accused of attempting to flee by joining forces with other countries. Bound with rope and appearing injured, Yuther wonders was there anyone present who truly wanted to know the truth. Whatever those observing wanted to believe, Yuther considers it is not the unsettling reality that the world may soon fall into an existential crisis, rather they feel everything would be resolved if they killed him as a lowborn omega.
For those gathered, Yuther notes the Emperor is absent. Looking back, Yuther feels so much has been lost serving the cause. The prosecutor ends his harangue of Yuther by declaring that today he shall be executed by hanging. At the gallows, Yuther has the rope placed around his neck. Contemplating that he should feel bitter enough to cry tears of blood, Yuther does not feel all that angry. Where rather he is relaxed, Yuther concludes it is because he is exhausted.
Yuther is hanged to the applause of the crowd. Awakening in a bed, Yuther finds he is twenty.[2]
