Kuso Miso Technique is a manga consisting of one chapter, and one alone. It is written and illustrated by Junichi Yamakawa then published as a one-shot in the second issue of BaraComi. Upon the sole chapter's release in 1987 there was virtually no fanfare until over a decade later in 2002 when it was discovered online. Memes based on certain scenes proved popular, in addition to text from the manga which was favorably received. Being a one-shot story, it has been collected into Uho!! Ii Otokotachi released in 2003. Additionally, the story was included within Uho!! YamaJun Selection Yaranaika in 2016.
On April 1, 2023 there was the announcement of an anime. This was no April Fools. The anime OVA with the title of Shin Yaranai ka was scheduled to be released on April 1, 2024, around two decades after the series gained prominence online after its formal release a decade earlier than that. The thirty seven years gap between a manga release and an anime makes Shin Yaranai ka all the more notable given the rarity of yaoi anime to begin with, particularly when most are created soon after a manga has started. This OVA is to be produced by Studio Leo. The anime OVA also incorporated Jigoku no Shisha-tachi, another early Yaoi release, that one from 1983.

Masaki, an average college student, is walking through the park when he crosses eyes with Abe, an older mechanic sitting on a bench. Upon seeing him, Masaki says to himself "Uho, hot guy!" while Abe promptly unzips his jumpsuit, reveals his "unit" out in the open and asks, "Shall we do it?". They then proceed to the washroom and have sex.

A prep school student "Masaki Michishita" is running as fast as he can to the restroom in the park when he catches sight of a nice guy "Takakazu Abe" sitting on a bench. Their gazes overlap. Abe asked Michishita if he wanted to play with him and invited him to a brief wrestling match. Michishita, who has a weakness for nice guys, readily follows him and ...... their great adventure begins!

Describing himself as an ordinary schoolboy, Masaki feels something unusual about himself is that he likes men, although he didn’t have any sexual experiences with them before. Once he first saw Takakazu the first time, Masaki said that he was good looking and that he likes him. Complimenting Takakazu, he is upfront in communicating with him.
Takakazu Abe[]
Upon making eye contact with Takakazu he promptly unzips his overalls and questions “shall we do it”. A car mechanic, Takakazu suggests Masaki proceed with urinating. Asking if Masaki is okay, Takakazu shares it is also the first time in this manner for him as well.
Toilet Patron[]
The only other character seen, this man simply hears Masaki and Takakazu speak about the second act in the lavatory together.
Story[]
As Masaki Michishita runs for the bathroom he reaches the local restroom at the park. Passing by Takakazu Abe seated on a bench, Masaki remembers this restroom was famous as a meeting ground between men. In the restroom together, Masaki finds it is coming, namely the need to urinate. After, Takakazu also relieves himself. Proceeding, Takakazu hears Masaki further needs to use the toilet again in a different way. Where Takakazu is also happy to try this, Masaki summarizes his first homosexual experience.[1]

Production Details[]
The anime is released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on April 1, 2024. Produced as an all ages-title, the animation production commenced in May, 2023.
