Senyu is a character from At The End Of The World, I Still Want To Be With You, a manhua by Gene. Working as a waiter when he comes into contact with Qian Nuowan, after the world ends he remain committed to helping him. Adept at gathering resources, and sensible in his actions, Senyu plays a vital role in keeping Nuowan safe, where he would like to continue living together with him.
Background[]
Having gathered canned food supplies, Senyu used to be in the special forces, so he knows some survival tricks that came in handy. Having walked this path, where each day is the same as the last, for so long, Senyu has grown used to living in a solitary world.
While thinking two people have a better chance of surviving in these conditions compared to one person, Senyu considers Nuowan was pampered and spoiled so much he is unable to pull his own weight. Come Summer, this guy is going to get heatstroke without any air conditioning. His response is both to prepare for such possible eventualities, or find the means to overcome them.
Growing up in an orphanage, Senyu would kick a ball around by himself, no one cared. Later, in order to survive, Senyu worked abroad at fifteen years old. Beside a dying soldier, Senyu was told after the war he should just be a waiter. Advised to practice how to laugh and be happy, Senyu went back to China. While he became a waiter, Senyu could not laugh, which changed when he saw Nuowan smile.
Characteristics[]
Contemplating service with a smile, Senyu feels he should be able to avoid trouble like coming across Nuowan arguing with a female partner. When serious trouble does arise namely the end of the world, Senyu patiently tends to Nuowan. It in brusqueness in other cases though. Grabbing Nuowan and deeming him a pain for fainting out of nowhere, Senyu shouts the apocalypse is here, and who does he think took care of him for the past three days. Having opened up an old wound he sustained that was bandaged, Senyu mentions finally Nuowan said something sensible when risking his life is addressed. Thinking why Nuowan will not listen to him, Senyu feels he is always being like this, being difficult on purpose.
With hints of other survivors, it does not feel right, and Senyu considers if they were a rescue team they should have arrived long ago. Judging it obvious, Senyu feels they are not trying to rescue anyone. If they are pillagers after supplies, Senyu suspects they are in real trouble. Until they find out what their goal is, Senyu affirms they should not act without thinking. Noting Wu has a gun, Senyu feels there is more to him than it seems.
Consistently reliable in saving him, Senyu is willing, and able to fight cannibals that he is outnumbered by. Untying Nuowan as well, at that moment, Senyu begins to address his kissing, and later states he was too conceited, feeling he one-sidedly insisted that Nuowan could not do anything on his own. If Nuowan actually found a rescue team, Senyu feels he would not have to live such a precarious life with himself anymore. Continuing, Senyu adds Nuowan only ran into danger this time around because of his own impulsiveness. Thinking that Nuowan believes in him from the bottom of his heart, being together with him, Senyu feels it lets him believe that he is happy o be alive.
Aspirations[]
While looking after Nuowan, he had commenced reconnaissance work. Having tried phones already, Senyu then starts a fire. Keeping track of the geological instabilities, Senyu also notes he could not find any survivors nearby. Since he was kissed before by Nuowan when he was arguing, Senyu would like to return the apparent affection. Where survival is concerned, instead of wasting time on laid-back fantasies, Senyu says for Nuowan to think about where they can search for supplies tomorrow. Alarmed at Nuowan heading in a certain direction, Senyu saves him from falling out the building. Sorry, Senyu says he had no idea what came over him earlier in regards to kissing him.
Living with him for a year, dDealing with a bear that was chasing Nuowan, he adds at least they have settled on what they are eating for dinner. After Nuowan states he cannot stand since his legs are wobbly, Senyu elects to carrying him on his back. Informing him the meat is almost ready, Senyu finds Nuowan is sleeping then thinks he really acts like a prince, where he totally lacks any sense of crisis.
Initially keeping it to himself that he has found traces of other humans, with Nuowan intending to go, Senyu counters they have no idea where they are. Adding that Nuowan's body cannot handle travelling for that long, Senyu mentions that staying here is the safe thing to do. Finding it obvious he would die without him, Senyu then kisses Nuowan in an attempt to induce him to remain. Unable to answer why he does so, Senyu then thinks maybe they could leave this place, yet he just does not want to change the way they have been living.
Having gone after him, and then in the other direction when it became evident that Nuowan had gone the wrong way, Senyu arrives to save him from capture. Unsure what the captors are saying, Senyu accepts that as them not wanting to let Nuowan go. Charging, Senyu punches them away and calls for Nuowan take the chance to get back to camp. Dealing with cannibals, Senyu then unties Nuowan while saying to put it simply they have turned to cannibalism and are no longer human.
Hesitant to stay in the camp, with another room being discussed, Senyu claims one is big enough for him and Nuowan. Even when pushed away, Senyu intervenes having heard the ruckus between Nuowan and Wu. Wanting to protect him until the end of the world, Senyu speaks he is not afraid of that, and death doe not faze him either. Because Nuowan is here, Senyu has started to waver and swears he will live on with him.
