Characters[]

Miyano Yoshikazu[]

Miyano - Sasaki to Miyano

Coming across a student being assaulted, Miyano feels it is unbelievable, and scenes like this are hardly ever seen even in the most cliche BL stories. Calling Hirano to alert him, at finding Sasaki join him, Miyano wonders who he is before finding himself quietly looking up to him. Sure that he asked Sasaki before to not call him cute, Miyano wonders how this happened. Questioned on the manga related words he uses, Miyano finds them way too embarrassing. Presenting a manga for Sasaki to read, Miyano beseeches him to only read it in his own room, to not taking it out of the bag while outside among other specifications. Silencing Sasaki's mouth with his hands, Miyano mentions he must never talk about what he was about to describe in public, it is embarrassing. Perked up by Sasaki liking the details of the story, Miyano explains that the uke is kind of a crybaby but the one who is more manly mentally as well. Pleased to hear that Sasaki liked the end of the story too, Miyano describes the final scene the author wrote for the published anthology as his favorite. Impressed with the way it is written, Miyano feels letting the reader really feel the happiness of the pair is just amazing. Since the author of that book is really good at showing different ways for different couples to be happy, she is a favorite of his. Offered cookies, Miyano answers he does not like sweet things, so these cookies are good. Shocked when this is addressed by others, he affirms Sasaki is actually really nice. Accusing Hirano of chatting with another guy who had a lovely smile, Miyano says sorry, his excitement got a little out of hand. All the while, Miyano feels the roommate trope is tasty in and of itself so inwardly thanks Hirano for the details. Thanking Hirano as well for saying he will take Sasaki with him, Miyano states he is so cool. Seeing that Sasaki is returning the second manga, Miyano pushes him away out of earshot of other students. Alone, Miyano explains it as that fudanshi thrive in the shadows. Using a notepad, Miyano says he is learning Sasaki's preferences so he can use it to determine his next choice. Questioned how he does not like sweet things, Miyano replies they are usually difficult for him to digest. Not really going for fizzy drinks either, as it makes his tongue feel all weird, it is the same reason Miyano does not like spicy things. Stating he is going to the bookstore by himself, Miyano tells Sasaki to not say it like that when questioned if he is going to buy some BL. Reacting to Sasaki raising if it would not be quicker to buy it together, Miyano says for him to try standing in the BL section with another guy then, they would just become part of the fantasy of the girls around them. Asked if he can cook, Miyano answers his friend stopped him when he tried to use a knife in home-economics. Having come across Sasaki waiting as it was raining, Miyano states how he also rode the train so asked if he wanted to share his umbrella to the station.

Shuumei Sasaki[]

Sasaki - Sasaki to Miyano

Appearing beside Miyano and requesting that he hold the broom he has, Sasaki states he is going to break up the fight. Placing his arm around Miyano and saying he is looking as cute as ever, Sasaki is fond of physical contact and glomps him while greeting Miyano good morning. With Miyano threatening to draw a doujinshi involving him, Sasaki enthusiastically replies to go for it, with no clue what that is. Having asked a friend what the doujinshi is, Sasaki is also curious at what the other words Miyano mentions are, namely seme, uke, and moe. Wondering if Miyano likes manga, Sasaki questions if he has any recommendations. Claiming to have liked this shoujo manga set he borrowed from his big sister recently, Sasaki adds he would like to read what Miyano is into. Sharing how he finished reading the manga loaned yesterday, Sasaki casually begins to discuss the scene of the two guys going to the love hotel together. Speaking that he had never really read anything like that before, Sasaki professes to have found it kind of shocking, although does not appear as he really finds it so. Seated on his bed, Sasaki thought it was just a normal detective piece at first. Reading a story about two guys, seeing how the protagonist struggled with so much, while still managing to deal with it in a calm, cool manner, Sasaki adds that he really liked the story. As Miyano details what he likes about it, Sasaki considers how he is really cute before asking if could loan him another. Visiting Miyano's class, Sasaki shares he made some cookies in home-economics earlier, so he can have them. Stating they are not really sweet, Sasaki asks if that is okay. Asking if Miyano is around, Sasaki protests at being taken away by Hirano and insists he does need something. Having thought the book was funny, Sasaki adds he likes gag stories. Recollecting how he saw Miyano observing the fight, Sasaki considered how he looked cute from behind but the pants said it is a guy. Hearing the fight escalate, Sasaki willed Miyano to run. Then in thinking he could not handle it, Sasaki took action himself. Alone, Sasaki hoped he and Miyano could meet again when found by Hirano. Seated on the train together, Sasaki feels he cannot really cook where he used a cookie-cutter before. Mentioning his mother is a house-wife, Sasaki also shares he has a big sister. Giggling under the impression that Miyano was using a knife in a dangerous way, Sasaki shares how he just got an image of him holding one and finds it cute. Copying Hirano's notes while considering Miyano he asks what he did to wind up in such a terrible predicament. Helping himself to one of Hirano's dumplings, Sasaki then happily offers it to Miyano when he arrives. Coming to feel it it not good, Sasaki considers the next time he hugs Miyano he will crush him.

Hirano Taiga[]

Hirano - Sasaki to Miyano

Phoned by Miyano and asking him to hold, Hirano does indeed arrive at the scene of the bullying incident. Regarded as the committee sempai, having heard that Sasaki has been dropping by Miyano's classroom lately, Hirano questions if he is all right. Accused of being caught laughing as he chatted with a first-year boy in the basketball club with a lovely smile, Hirano instructs Miyano to not get the wrong idea. Clarifying that they are just roommates, Hirano speaks how he was the one who told Sasaki which class Miyano was in, so he just wanted to make sure he was not causing any trouble. Stricken when Sasaki appears at once, Hirano tells Miyano he will take him when he leaves. Taking Sasaki by the arm, Hirano told him to stop hanging around other class years' rooms unless he needs something specific. Remembering how he did head to Miyano's location after being called, Hirano found Sasaki there. In ascertaining whether Sasaki had seen Miyano, he asked him to come to the counsellor's office to give a statement. In class with Sasaki, he presses him to just move his hand to finish copying notes.

Commenting that Miyano is blushing, Tasuku shares how he heard Sasaki mention something about the person that he likes. Speaking for them to turn in their journals and head home, Tasuku notices the pocky Miyano has and hears he got it from Sasaki. Remarking that Miyano gave away the chocolate he gave to him the other day, Tasuku observes how Sasaki would eat some from Sasaki. Thinking aloud, Tasaku considers maybe he will buy his girlfriend some pocky.

Story[]

Miyano Yoshikazu sees a student being attacked by others so calls Hirano about this occurring behind the Southern school building. When Shuumei Sasaki arrives to break up the fight, Miyano admires him. Three months later, Miyano finds Sasaki being quite affectionate with him. Asked if he likes manga since he mentions terms related to them, then if he has any recommendations, Miyano offers a volume to Sasaki. With him having finished it yesterday, Miyano prevents Sasaki from mentioning the guys who went into the love hotel together, out of embarrassment, yet he is happy in discussing other aspects of the story when they are alone together. Seeing Miyano's expression as he happily details what he likes about the book, Sasaki thinks he looks really cute and requests if he could loan another book.

Discussing ideas for the school culture festival, Yamada suggests a maid cafe, which is met with the response that they are at an all boys school.[1] With Sasaki visiting Miyano's class with increasing frequency, Hirano checks to make sure he is not giving him any trouble. When Sasaki then appears, Hirano resolves to take him so as to leave Miyano. Where Hirano indeed takes him by the arm, Sasaki protests and means to return Miyano's book to him. Led away since Sasaki sticks out too much, Miyano takes notes on what Sasaki likes to determine what he could recommend next.

Recollecting how he first saw Miyano, after the fight Sasaki saw Hirano arrive. Where Miyano had taken the kid who was beaten to the nurse's office, Hirano shows the message where he asked him to say thanks to Sasaki for helping. Desiring to see him again, Sasaki learned his name was Miyano.[2]

While Sasaki would like to walk home with Miyano, he plans to drop by the bookstore so will pass, and Hirano comments on how they walk home together. Although Miyano means to go alone, wary of being seen with another guy within the BL section, he reconsiders feeling he cannot turn Sasaki down. It is remembered how Miyano first ran into Sasaki on the train while commuting to school. On one presently, Miyano hears the number of stops Sasaki has to take. Thanking him for the cookies the other day, Miyano addresses how Sasaki can cook.

In class together, Sasaki and Hirano see Miyano arrive. It is recalled how Sasaki saw that Miyano was a guy and placed his hands on his shoulders. After Hirano fended him off, he told Sasaki to not lay a finger on Miyano. With it raining outside, Sasaki finds Miyano join him who has an umbrella. Questioning whether he commutes to school, Miyano offered to go to the station with him. Unsure of who should hold the umbrella, they hold it together.[3]

Walking with Kuresawa past the vending machines, Miyano sees Sasaki so greets him. Wondering if he just got to school, Sasaki confirms this. While he overslept, Sasaki feels he will be fine as long as he makes it to second period. With a vocab test, Miyano notes Sasaki is drinking another crazy beverage in his words. When Sasaki offers a sip, Miyano accepts yet finds it too sweet. In class, Sasaki helps himself to one of Hirano's dumplings. Showing up, Miyano hands the manga he told Sasaki about yesterday. Having been called to the office, Miyano explains he will be away from his classroom so decided to give it to Sasaki before. Alerting Sasaki to not read it here, Miyano is then offered the dumpling that was taken from Hirano. Mentioning how a friend just gave him some sweets, Miyano offers some to Sasaki. While Sasaki chews it, Miyano asks him what is wrong before seeing that the chocolates contain liquor, where Hirano instructs him to spit it out and go and gargle some water.

After Miyano speaks with Sasaki, from Hirano's comment he always thought that he was an uke. With Sasaki having drank some water, he asks Hirano where Miyano is. Calling him, Miyano has acquired a bottle of the drink Sasaki had before to give to him. Contemplating it, Sasaki remembers three months ago how Miyano handed him a band aid after coming across him again. Regarding how cute he was, Sasaki laughed whether Miyano wanted to date him. Walking presently, Miyano hears Hirano mention he needs to meet his roommate so he can see they are not like that. Speaking to Miyano to thank him, Sasaki is happy.[4][5]
