Keeper of the Pearl is a completed manhwa written and illustrated by Doruk. Released in 2018, it has been published by Peanutoon. In an Omegaverse prince Moon Jae was sent to the the year 2018 to join Ji Yeon after he passed away. During this time Jae is an Alpha CEO of an art gallery and Yeon is an Omega unable to find work on account of his society determined status.
Synopsis[]
Long ago, a royal prince and the man who loved him were tragically torn apart by death. Reborn in modern times, these fated lovers meet again but have no memory of the love they once shared. Can they rediscover their feelings for each other and finally find happiness together?

Moon Jae[]
In the past he was a prince and journeyed through the rain to spend his first manifestation with Yeon. Missing him so much Jae stated that Yeon was his one and only. When Yeon could not go any further Jae hugged him and said he would make him his queen. Having judgement passed upon him by a dragon Jae would gladly accept any punishment but would like to meet Yeon once again. With that he faded away and lives in 2018 Seoul as the CEO of JM art gallery. Bumping into Yeon he was going to get his number. Recognizing him from there and from seeing him at a restaurant Jae finds Yeon dizzy from the effects of his heat cycle. He takes a rut suppressor due to his job and helps Yeon back to his home. Thinking it would be great if Yeon were his, Jae wonders where he has heard his name before. Having looked at Yeon as much as he wanted Jae wants to see him again. Stating that he is the president Jae orders Yoonsun to not go and do things as he pleases when someone is fired. Visiting Seung in person as one of the fired artists Jae learns that his son is Yeon and this complicates matters even further. With iced coffee thrown over him Jae laughs it off and says he will see Yeon next time if there is a chance. Hs is of the view that someone with a strong will is not bad at all. Losing money is not such a big problem since they can always earn it back. Time wasted, the defamation of the gallery's name and the detrimental effect this has had on the artists are three issues that bother him. Jae had requested that his secretary Kang look into what kind of person Yoonseon was before he became a curator with something not feeling right. After helping Yeon, Jae says there have been many things he has liked but that attraction has never remained for more than a week, with Yeon as the exception. He invites Yeon to work with him as a curator.
Ji Yeon[]
Before the present he asked Yoon to take him to the palace to see prince Jae Moon for the first time in so long. Living with Jae until experiencing a sword wound, Yeon wondered what would happen to the prince if he were to leave. Yeon could not understand why Jae was crying so sorrowfully until seeing the blade through him. He would see but not recognize Jae again in the future. There he was late for an interview and accidentally ran into Jae. Every time it rains Yeon keeps having the same dream where no matter how many times he asks, the dragon does not answer why he calls him "mommy". In the current time period Yeon was born April 5, 1992 and lives in the Gyeonggi Province, District 00. Graduating from a good college with a good major Yeon finds his job applications are being rejected which is due to discrimination against his Omega status. With the art exhibition closing Yeon is out of work with his dread compounded since he will not be able to buy heat suppressor drugs. Whilst he is upset at his prospects Yeon present a happy face and assures his father, Seung that everything will turn out okay. He does not go to the center since otherwise they will find out he has been faking being a Beta at work. Not remembering his interactions with Jae on account of the heat at seeing Jae again Yeon regards him as the president who fired his father. Yeon prepares iced coffee then pours it over Jae. Instructing him to get out Yeon holds Jae accountable for throwing his father aside in exchange for some younger, more popular artist all because of his own greed. Yeon says for Jae to look at the huge mess his father and himself are now in as a result. When he is harassed by a man who has taken his pay check Yeon gives him to the count of three to return it before he defends himself by throwing him over his shoulder. Whilst he initially rejects Jae's offer to work as a curator among other things Yeon signs the contract since it will financially help him and his father. Experiencing a feeling of longing Yeon becomes tearful from happiness at holding Jae's hand.
Dragon[]
Whilst it was wyrm like and long, unlike other dragons this specific one had what resembled short black fur covering its body instead of scales. With Yeon struck, the dragon judged the deeds guilty of sin having shattered his fated pair, a pearl, one which housed a young dragon. The dragon stated for such a great sin Jae deserves to burn in the flames of hell. However for restoring his kingdom and helping the people to prosper the dragon allowed Jae to choose his punishment. Complying with Jae'S desire the dragon allowed him and Yeon to see one another but without any memories of their past lives. Whether it were using unique traits or not this dragon was connected with reincarnating people it saw fit to judge at a later point in time.
Ji Seung[]
Yeon's father who is described as someone who does not know anything besides art. Seung had his right arm injured after he tried getting his paintings displayed in an art gallery but was thrown out by security guards. Knowing that Yeon has been having a hard time because he is an Omega Seung had earned money from painting since he could not sit idly by while his son was experiencing difficulties. He would much rather not see Yeon work to prevent him from being in danger.
Kang Joon-Suk[]
Working at the JM art gallery as a secretary he knocks and enters Jae's office and takes Yeon back to his address. Kang provides the report on curator Yoonseon's salary and expenditures to Jae. He thinks to himself that Jae is unpredictable when he is asked to push back his schedule. Kang explains to Yeon that this gallery is not sustained by money alone, building trust with artists is also important.
Kwon Yool[]
Calling Yeon she was concerned when her boyfriend said Yeon did not show up at work today. Yool was concerned for his well being after hearing Yeon had collapsed.
Youngjoo[]
Berating Jae over the phone Youngjoo questions how he can be so ruthless to sack Ji Seung. He is the subject of the company's embezzlement situation.
Gi Yoonsun[]
Contacted by Jae it was Yoonsun who told Seung that his art work has not garnered a lot of interest these days so an exhibition fee would need to be paid.
Joon[]
Living in the past he comments that Yeon was sleeping so soundly that he did not notice him enter the room. Joon said he and his father must leave for the palace now. The request for Yeon to come with him was ignored.
Story Introduction[]
Moon Jae and Ji Yeon lived together in the past. After Yeon perished from a sword wound Jae was judged by a dragon. Set to burn for shattering his fated pair, for bringing prosperity to the people Jae was allowed to choose his punishment yet wanted to see Yeon again. In the year 2018 in Seoul Jae is attending a meeting with president Han to discuss the expansion work. After Yeon accidentally bumps into him they do not recognize each other.[1] Waking up Yeon receives another job application rejection on which ticking the box causes employers to admit that they do not accept Omegas. Ji Seung tells his son Yeon that his art exhibition is also closing but they both remain outwardly positive.[2] Working as a waiter Yeon collapses and falls unconscious for around half an hour. Heading home he remains dizzy after working all night for three weeks straight. Yeon's heat cycle comes into effect but he is out of his medication. Other Omegas offer him some of theirs but none of them are the same type Yeon needs. Jae finds Yeon and takes him to his office.[3] After intimate moments at the JM art gallery secretary Kang Joon-Suk enters and returns the sleeping Yeon back home.[4] There Yeon awakens to Kwon Yool's phone call. Jae is phoned by Youngjoo over Mr. Ji Seung's paintings. Jae contacts Gi Yoonsun over the matter before seeing the pile of appointments. With it being Wednesday, on July 4th the gallery will undergo construction for an expansion.[5]
A past event shows Yeon asking Joon if he can go to the palace to see the prince. Jae seeks Yeon out at his and kisses him. Yeon awakens from the dream of himself being stabbed to a call from his father. The speaker states he has gotten into an accident.[6] At Sung Shil Han Hospital Yeon finds his father and brings him home. Jae arrives there to discuss something and Yeon pours a drink over Jae seeing him as the one who fired his father.[7] After he leaves Yeon is overcome with unanticipated urges and wonders if he has to live like this forever.[8] Jae and Kang learn that Yoonseon had been deducting an extortionate amount of money from all new artists. Mr Shin Jungkwon and Ms. Kwon Okjoo both had their exclusive contracts terminated. Jae says for Kang to consult this matter with lawyer Jang whilst he means to recruit the artists again. Seeking out Yeon at the restaurant he works at Jae finds him being harassed by a man in the street.[9] After helping, Jae asks Yeon to work with him as a curator and reminds him they slept together before.[10] With Yeon refusing Jae says he shall cover all the expenses of Seung's surgeries and other medical expenses. Additionally Jae will cover Yeon's living costs. The one condition is that Yeon must not turn Jae away and he slaps him across the face in response. Signing it after all Yeon notes the contract is more beneficial to himself than Jae. Receiving Jae's business card Yeon thinks his name is familiar.[11] Yeon arrives at the company then Jae and Kang discuss how the stolen funds have been embezzled. Han Jihye and Kwon Jinwoon are some of the artists whose names and works Yeon has to memorize over two weeks. Jae asks Yeon out to dinner.[12]

Dragons possessing tremendous powers exist within the world. There are various types and they share an affinity for amber colored orbs, pearls, that are connected to fated pairs and newborn dragons. Acting as a deity one takes into account a human's sinful and overall actions and allows them to choose their own punishment. The dragon adds its own drawback to the wish.
In the present day people are divided into Alpha, Beta and Omega types. Omegas have their employment prospects handicapped as their unpredictable heat cycles are a concern for the alphas in the office. The heat suppressor medicines are also costly and the government is more inclined to oppress Omegas rather than keep the behaviors of Alphas in check. People do sympathize with Yeon when he runs out of medicine that he points out should not even be needed, but also consider the scent a public disturbance and consider reporting him. Different Omegas have different medications yet thinking Yeon is working as a Beta they feel there is nothing they can do to help him and leave. Physical effects for Omegas are heat flushes and throbbing in the lower belly.
