Engineer x Black Market Seller is a completed webtoon by Junah. It is a comedy romance where Johhny navigates his feelings for Patrick, who is smitten with a television show about a cartoon bear.

Is it serious that I have lost my body and my heart, to that Beary Otaku? The sexiest man in this neighborhood, Johnny Black, comes to tell you the sad story(?) of his unrequited love...

Johnny Black[]

Offering two briefcases to some clients, Johnny would like to receive a special service. He breaks the fourth wall by introducing himself, as he thinks how he receives the love and interest of the world. His own name is tattooed just under his collarbone. Surprised to be contacted by Patrick, he jubilantly runs to him before realizing he had lost to a cartoon bear since that was what Patrick needed help with and why he was so happy to see him. Johnny remembers how he learnt of Patrick from a bartender and made his own way to Patrick's apartment out of the blue. Similarly he entered Patrick's room and judged it an otaku room when he found it adorned with Beary paraphernalia. Curious to try on a prop, he then apologizes after being noticed by Patrick.

Patrick[]

An engineer and Johnny Black's "Beary Otaku", he runs to him holding a remote control after having desperately called Johnny since he needed to change the channel number. His enthusiasm for the Beary television show results in him covering his apartment with related posters. Upon finding Johhny, a stranger who had entered his home who was now wearing a Beary head prop, Patrick's first reaction was to seize him and pin him to the wall before wondrously addressing Johhny as Beary.

Beary[]

An anthropomorphic plush teddy bear who can talk, and rather to young children, this character addresses adults who are watching on television. Beary wears a fairy princess style dress, has a star tipped wand and announces today they should try and unite their forces to defeat the villains.

Bartender[]

He thinks Johhny's somewhat hysterical reaction may be kind of loneliness and whilst saying he is not interested in his predicament, he has acquired information that Johhny had asked him to investigate. He voices that in this neighbourhood the engineers are rarely respectable but hopes Johhny finds what he is looking for.

Story Introduction[]

Johhny Black has a partial business exchange with two men, in the neighbourhood where the men are the sexiest. These days he has been worried about something, before checking his phone, shocked to see that it is Patrick. Exuberant at finding one another they watch Beary on TV as Johnny sees Patrick needed help with accessing the channel for that.

Two months earlier, Johnny was at the Yellow Cliff bar where the bartender had no interest in Johhny's situation. He does however provide details on an engineer that may have the qualities Johhny needs. After saying Mr. Ostella does not have any kindness, Johhny exited the taxi outside an apartment complex and entered Patrick's apartment before being found by him.
