Codename: Anastasia is web novel by Boy Season that was first released in 2012. It has been adapted into an ongoing manhwa with chapters across one season. The manhwa is written by Boy Season and Eunbi with illustrations written by HAN (II). An English release is available on Tappytoon.
Synopsis[]
Agent Kwon Taekjoo is dispatched to Russia with two tasks. First, he must find “Anastasia,” a new weapon that could change the world forever. Second, he is to avoid Russia’s psychotic killer, Psikh Bogdanov, at all costs. To assist him on his undercover mission, Taekjoo is sent a partner who only reveals himself to be a man named Zhenya. But Zhenya quickly proves himself to be just as dangerous and unhinged as the infamous Psikh himself. Just who could he truly be? And will Taekjoo succeed in tracking down “Anastasia”?

Working for South Korea's National Intelligence Service, Taekjoo is to tasked with finding out what a new weapon is. Able to speak Chinese and Persian, while Taekjoo has also learned Russian it is his first time visiting the country. Disguised under a Sakamoto Hiro alias, in tracking contacts Taekjoo feels the best hide-and-seek players tend to take bolder approaches.

Stalking Taekjoo form a far since leaving from the airport as Sakamoto Hiro, Zhenya had taken an interest in him. Zhenya is upfront that he has been watching him since his arrival at the airport. Zhenya then proceeded to disgust himself in plain sight as Taekjoo's Partner who was assigned by South Korea's National Intelligence Service.

An officer for the North Korean Ministry of State Security. He in onboard the ferry under a Chinese identity. Lee takes a hostage to have Taekjoo pass back the memory drive he had.

Chief Im calls Taekjoo to speak in person, and is able to stop the train he is on for him to do so. He is with the Deputy Chief's office to update Taekjoo with details on the Anastasia project.
First Deputy Chief[]
In a meeting with Im and Taekjoo he raises the prospect of stopping the Anastasia weapon from being completed if it is not already.
Story[]
Taekjoo recalls how his father and brother served in the military and never returned home. Left alone with his mother, she thought Taekjoo worked as a civil servant. In truth working for the National Intelligence Service, Taekjoo was assigned to examine a weapon creating project between North Korea and Russia, one believed to be able to completely shift the global balance of power.
While Taekjoo was not the first choice, he is to continue agent Morgan's mission after he was murdered. Disguised as Sakamoto Hiro, he was also informed of another's alias of Psikh Bogdanov. Counselled to ignore him, Taekjoo would find everything went awry after that and he would be found by Psikh[1]
Taking the ferry from Busan International Port, Taekjoo is updated that the contact Kim Yeonghee, and Lee Cheoljin, the officer for the North Korean Ministry of State Security are both on the ship. Finding no one suspicious in the cafeteria, Taekjoo notices a woman who has been regarding a vending machine for a while.
Noticing a man approach, Taekjoo identifies Lee Cheoljin. Dealing with him, Taekjoo acquires the confidential state information that Kim left behind. After Lee takes a man hostage, Taekjoo hands back the memory drive. Following him to the ship's deck, Taekjoo shoots Kim's gun out her hand when she joins them, but finds Lee has jumped overboard.[2]
