Assorted Wildness is novel series at three books written by Gyeja that were released in 2017. These were adapted into a manhwa that is complete at sixty chapters, in addition to the prologue, and a side story. This was written by Gyeja and illustrated by Jipang. Released in 2020 it has been published by Ridibooks and in English by Tapas. Season 1 consists of chapters 1-32. Season 2 is chapters 33-60. The side story is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Mongryong is having what we’ll call... a tough time. His sister’s having an affair with a married man, and the guy’s wife is the older sister of a major mob boss. To make matters worse, Mongryong's sister’s boyfriend’s wife’s brother decides to take him hostage as bait to lure the lovers out of hiding. Will the madness never end?! ...Still, maybe—JUST maybe—Mongryong can convince his captor to go easy on him. Just not TOO easy. After all, there's nothing wrong with playing a little rough either.

Lee Mongryong[]
While captured Mongryong shouts if Jeha is not going to free them. Having done nothing wrong, Mongryong asks if Jeha has any conscience and to put him down before he beats him up. While confirming he approached someone, it was to snatch his accounting book. Hearing he would be dropped, Mongryong questioned if Jeha really wanted to do this, and can he not trust him. Having one more thing to say, Mongryong announces he loves Jeha. A year ago Mongryong was shopping with his sister Hyeyoung and wondered why she was throwing such a fuss when he is just going to meet her boyfriend for a bit. Telling her to not change the subject and knowing she hates the brown color of the jacket she is holding, Mongryong told her sister there was no need to go this far. Asking how old her boyfriend is and hearing he is 36, Mongryong raises if he is not a total thief, then thinks she does not have a good eye for men. Waving goodbye to Hyeyoung and feeling like he would never see her again, Mongryong tells himself to just go home and not pay attention to it. Mongryong is acquainted with prosecutor Junyoung from his past. Having something for Miss Flower, he presents her candy. With an unknown number calling, Mongryong wonders if it is spam. Contacted by Hyeyoung he experiences dread at realizing someone is in his house. Asked if he is Mongryong he replies no, that he is a friend and it looks like Mongryong is not home. Stating he will have to come back later, Mongryong adds for the man to say hello if he sees him before excusing himself. Caught, Mongryong is tied to a chair to have water thrown over his face. Unable to recollect how many times he has fainted, Mongryong then speaks to those gathered how their faces are the same and asks if they are the three little pigs or something. Answering Nim to kill him or let him live, he still does not know where Hyeyoung is. Managing to escape, when cornered, Mongryong told Makang he could not kill him because he needs his sister to come for him. Not wanting to be hit anymore, with the way things are going he might as well just turn everything upside down and leave them and he did jump, making onto the next building's roof. Regarding them as bloody idiots, Mongryong thought he cannot die in a place like this just because he is crazy. After being hit by a car, and biting Jeha who was searching him for information on his sister's whereabouts, he made it into a forest before fainting. After being found by a hiker, as soon as Mongryong returned to his senses after passing out for an entire day he hitchhiked in the dark and got into a car that took him none other to his ex-boyfriend, Sunghyun's shop. Wondering what he should do, Mongryong acquires himself a stun gun. Having found his way into the back of Jeha's car he holds a knife to his neck. After using the stun gun, Mongryong has Sunghyun film him performing acts on Jeha. From now on Jeha is to not look for his sister or him, otherwise Mongryong will put him on blast.

Seok Jeha[]
Stating that he would kill Mongryong if he caught him wagging his tail around other men, Jeha says he specifically agreed to that, and he regards him as between an animal and property. Addressing Mongryong as his dear puppy, Jeha says he will always make him nervous for the rest of his life so it is not a bad idea killing him right now. Ordering one of his various henchmen, Sanah, to drop Mongryong into the sea, with the rope cut, Jeha dives in after him. A year ago when he had heard Mongryong was captured, Jeha said to just kill him, and Hyeyoung, who he was after, will show up at her brother's funeral. Speaking with his sister, Sara, he says from the looks of it she is quite curious about the news regarding the woman who has been having an affair with her husband. After coming across Mongryong in the road, he has his ear bitten then says to just kill him on the spot should he be caught. Receiving an update on Mongryong's whereabouts, Jeha replies he is fine to drive by himself, he is sick of all of them always crowding around him. Not reacting to Mongryong behind him in his car with a knife to his neck, Jeha is tapped with a stun gun and wakes from his unconsciousness handcuffed to a bed. With his cold stare not resulting in Mongryong freeing him when Jeha says to, he is unnerved when Mongryong means to film himself on top of him. Finding the recording of himself is to discourage him from looking for Hyeyoung and Mongryong, he thinks all this for something so trivial. With Mongryong leaving, Jeha thinks right he will let him run as much as he wants for now, next time it will be his turn. Extremely controlling, Jeha would fire a gun's bullet past Mongryong's head to graze his face, and then outright shoot him in the leg. He would have a GPS tracking chip surgically implanted in Mongryong's arm. Aware that he was staying to keep Hyeyoung safe, Jeha would discuss with his brother Junyoung whether Mongryong was happy staying as a hostage. While he would pay for Hyeyoung's hospital bills, and have moments of being slightly less iniquitous to Mongryong, he still ultimately had little regard for who he was and desired him as someone to love himself, despite the reprehensible way Jeha treats Mongryong.
The Man with Mongryong[]
Hanging upside down he shouts for somebody to please save them. Asked by Jeha which one of them came for the other, he states it is unfair. He was just standing still and this person suddenly came a grabbed his crotch.
Sanah[]
After placing a jacket on Jeha he is asked to drop their puppy, Mongryong. Hearing Mongryong say he loves Jeha, he asks whether he should stop. Sanah is one of Jeha's various accomplices.
Lee Hyeyoung[]
Shopping with her brother, Mongryong she says her new boyfriend is a nice person and he will know it when meeting him. Noticing it is inspector Junyoung that Mongryong is talking on the phone, Hyeyoung in turn answers her phone. Sharing that she needs to go to the company, something just happened, Hyeyoung states she will be right back so Mongryong should go home first. Calling Mongryong and alerting him not to go home, Hyeyoung says rather to come to an address she will send. Hyeyoung had used a prepaid phone that has already been thrown away. Details show Hyeyoung is currently managing a business corporation, and is a suspect along with Cho who she reportedly was having an affair with. Feeling that something would happen to her, some time ago Hyeyoung told Mongryong that something was left at storage box 5 at Chuncheon Terminal. Having been targeted in an accident, Hyeyoung awaits surgery in hospital. She gains consciousness to see Mongryong once more.
Seok Junyoung[]
Inspector Junyoung calls Mongryong on the phone. Asked to quit being a prosecutor and stay in the company since that would be more stable, Junyoung is also advised to get married too. Claiming to like things the way they are now, Junyoung says to please marry off Jeha first. Finding he has an important call, Junyoung asks if he can take it, no, it does not concern a woman. Speaking how he has not been able to get in contact with Mongryong for days since he was at the clothing store, Junyoung then finds Mongryong's Buddhist prayer beads. With blood on it, Junyoung thinks whether he is alive. Previously when a student he had met Mongryong where he was to record and write a transcript. Presenting Mongryong a hot chocolate but unsure if he liked sweet things, Junyoung had a rough idea of what was going on. Being direct and asking this one question, Junyoung asks did he really do it then details how he left the group chat room at 8:13, while the victim's watch stopped at 7 o'clock and 48 minutes at the time of the assault. Being the prosecutor who had Mongryong placed in a penitentiary, and discussing it with a work colleague, Junyoung visited Mongryong in his detention. Told to not visit him, Junyoung waited until his release as he brought gifts for Mongryong. Affirming he was not pitying him, Junyoung said he just wanted to be his friend. Presently, it is news to learn that his brother in law, Cho, was having an affair with Hyeyoung. Considering the matter, Junyoung cannot believe that the problems that turned the whole Ilsung house upside down have a connection with Mongryong. Having details on Sunghyun, he has asked his colleague to contact him. Sharing that Jeha had also called him over hurriedly, Junyoung feels it is going to be hard to meet up with him before that. Finding Mongryong with Jeha, he mostly expected this. Junyoung speculates it is because of the recent incident with Director Cho since Mongryong's sister is involved, hence why he was taken. Replying to Jeha that he and Mongryong do not have such a relationship, Junyoung says to not treat him badly. While Junyoung says he is sorry about what is happening with Director Cho, he adds Mongryong has not done anything wrong. It is not like he has harmed Jeha or anything, so there is no need for him to be tied up here. Asking with whose permission is Jeha keeping Mongryong as a hostage, Junyoung says he will take him with him. Shocked when Mongryong says he will stay, Junyoung replies it is still not too late. Saying for them to just go, Junyoung adds he will find his sister first. Practically, Junyoung does not have the immediate leverage to keep Mongryong safe from Jeha's influence, yet he does influence his father to try and help Mongryong and his sister from the wider dangers.
Miss Flower[]
An elderly woman who lives near where Mongryong's house is. Asking Mongryong whether he went somewhere, Miss Flower answers she is out in the cold since her mom told her to go out while she puts her brother to sleep. Warning Mongryong not to go home, she states some evil-minded men went there earlier. With Mongryong going anyway, Miss Flower calls after she said not to.
Makang[]
At Mongryong's house Makang asks if it is him. Makang strikes Mongryong after the kidnapping. Wanting him to say where Hyeyoung is, Makang states they are going to tire each other out if they keep beating Mongryong up. When Mongryong had been cornered, Makang asks how he managed to slip away like a rat, and why he came up to the roof like a fool. Makang then questioned if Mongryong was going to throw himself off or something. After Sunghyu has been taken, he asks if Mongryong is crazy and how dare he come at them with a motorbike. In a room with him, Makang strikes someone for revealing family details to Mongryong and questions if he is going to keep falling for his tricks. He informs Mongryong that the big brother, Jeha, who he works for, is calling him.
Nim[]
Instructing Makang to stop interrogating Mongryong, he says they are going to meet big brother soon. Turning to Mongryong and saying it would be better if he started thinking, Nim continues that Mongryong is as good as dead if the person he serves asks to see him in person. Speaking to Jeha he feels Hyeyoung will not show up to Mongryong's funeral, they were already known before they showed up there. Nim suspects that director Cho has people planted in their group. Assaulting Sunghyun, he raises how Mongryong came to his store a couple of days ago. With Mongryong joining them, Nim thought he was a senseless dog but it looks like he is at least loyal. Nim answers Mongryong it does not matter if he has something embarrassing on Jeha since he will die here today. Frowning at Mongryong mentioning Jeha's private area, Nim orders him captured. Answering his call, Nim updates Mongryong that he is to be brought with them. If he drops his weapon and follows them obediently, they will let his friend go.
Baekho[]
Often with Makang or Nim he usually reveals sensitive information to Mongryong. He is kind of bothered by the fact that Mongryong has done nothing wrong and got captured because of his sister, but does nothing to address that, and continues his service. Even when tasked with taking Mongryong back to his home since he wants to see it, Baekho is still only concerned with information he might have.
Sara[]
Jeha's Sister, saying that he got here quickly she explains the whole family has been here since morning as it is Grandfather's death anniversary. Told to take care of herself, Sara states Jeha is rude just like his father. At dinner with her family, Sara shares she is not sure when her husband will be released from hospital. It seems that woman was more seriously injured than he was. Neither are in a state where they can care for themselves, so their next of kin will have to make some decisions. Just as gleeful in asking Jeha about rumors, Sara has heard he has a dog, a little, pink one. Inviting herself into Hyeyoung's room, Sara does not think too much of her affair with her husband, as she has invited many celebrities round to hers. She does threaten both Hyeyoung and Mongryong though.
Doosan[]
Having driven a car that knocked Mongryong over he asked the others what they were doing here. Wondering if they hit an elk, Doosan said he would check it out first.
Sister[]
A monk who spoke with Junyoung. She shares how since Hyeyoung came down to Namwon last month she might not be able to visit as often having met someone. She also shared Hyeyoung might take Mongryong to live abroad with them this Spring. Bothering her since it was like Hyeyoung was saying goodbye, sister monk came over dizzy at the thought of something happening.
Junyoung's Aid[]
Having called for Junyoung she mentions the student, Lee Mongryong who she feels sorry for. He does not have parents and his one and only sister was involved in a hit-and-run accident the day before yesterday and she is not sure if they can pay the surgery fees.
Kim Sunghyun[]
Asking why Mongryong suddenly stopped talking, Sunghyun questions what in the world happened. Taking a seat next to Mongryong he says they should apply some medicine since his lips are chapped. Sunghyun states Mongryong has to tell him what is going on so he can help him. Discussing how a stun gun is better than a taser to a customer in his shop, Sunghyun cautions Mongryong it is dangerous when he takes it. Helping Mongryong to transport Jeha after he is stunned, Sunghyun is wearing a balaclava mask when asking what is he doing and who the hell is this person. Recording with an iPhone Sunghyun nods to indicate that it is filming well. Having been kidnapped, Sunghyun is hit by Nim and questioned where Mongryong is. Asking if Nim thinks his store only has two clients, Sunghyun told him he does not remember, also this is clearly an obstruction of business. Seeing Mongryong arrive and intending to fight, Sunghyun shouts that he can't and to run away. Beseeching him not to go with them, Sunghyun asks does he not know that Mongryong will die if he goes. With his injured face having plasters on, Sunghyun enters Junyoung's office. Having been assisting Mongryong indirectly while he was staying with Jeha, after handing him an envelope, Sunghyun shares he has been through a lot in these past few days because of him. Sunghyun thought he was going to die because he had to stay up all night with his younger siblings, and provides the envelope that Hyeyoung left for Mongryong.
Store Assistant[]
Answering the door to Mongryong and saying he cannot come here anymore, he has clearly been assaulted. Telling him to not even mention this, he details some gangsters turned the entire store upside down and dragged the owner, Sunghyun off with them. They also left an address that Mongryong can visit.
Junyoung's Other Colleague[]
This woman confirms with Junyoung that Cho had an affair with Hyeyoung. It is why the whole Ilsung Group has turned upside down. After all, now everyone knows that Director Cho, who holds the most influence after Chairman Seok, had an affair with an accountant from a small company. They are still looking for more details on how they got to know one another, but she reveals Cho and Hyeyoung were from the same orphanage. Noting that they have disappeared without a trace, she adds it seems a portion of Director Cho's assets have already gone missing. She has been unable to reach out to Sunghyun as directed before seeing that he has come to them.
Jeha's father[]
The company president, he has been married twice. When Seja was younger he would beat him with a golf club. Aware of Mongryong but not caring enough to do anything, until recently, Jeha's father discusses with Sara how they would be better off destroying whatever is distracting Jeha.
Cho Youngmin[]
Sara's husband, he had an affair with Hyeyoung. His address is listed as in Seoul and he is currently Ilsong Corporation's Executive Director.
Yoon[]
Chief Yoon is the closest assistant to Junyoung. He was tasked with acquiring an envelope left by Hyeyoung at Chuncheon Terminal. Having been caught, there is a recording of him having an affair so his wife would receive alimony, that results in him sharing what he knows.
Yang[]
Chief Yang followed Yoon but was unable to track his unregistered car.
Nakyung Park[]
Outside Seha's house, Nakyung states he is looking rather dashing since the last time she saw him. Clarifying that rather than two it had been five months, Nakyung feels it is no shock he would not notice. Rather than wait at the restaurant, Nakyung found herself wandering here and there and was actually planning to see the chairman. If Seha is after her percentage of the company stocks, Nakyung says to not even think about asking her for them.
Story[]
Lee Mongryong hangs tied upside down with a man he was with. Seok Jeha instructs Sanah to drop Mongryong. For all Mongryong's attempts to have him stop, he is dropped into the water. When Jeha says to pull him up they find the rope has been cut so he dives in. Wondering how he ended up involved with a dude so crazy he throws people into the sea, looking back, it was this time last year in Winter. Mongryong was browsing the wares in a clothes store when a long and tough relationship began.[1] Mongryong was shopping with his sister, Lee Hyeyoung, before they were to meet her new boyfriend. While he received a phone call from Seok Junyoung, she had one as well. After Hyeyoung says she has to go to the company, Mongryong is told to go back home. Walking there, Mongryong finds who he calls Miss Flower and is warned that wicked men had headed to his house. With Hyeyoung calling him, Mongryong is directed not to go home, rather come to an address she will send. When Mongryong realizes someone is in his house, and Makang asks who he is, Mongryong gives an excuse he is not Mongryong, before someone familiar with him speaks his name. Jeha is informed that they caught Mongryong.[2] Having been tied up, others want to kill Mongryong yet he is needed to catch Director Cho and that woman. After striking Mongryong and asking to know where Hyeyoung is, Makang is told to stop by Nim since big brother will be here soon. Mongryong answers he really does not know where Hyeyoung is.
Jeha arrives to meet his sister, Sara, having received a message. Sara hears the news about the woman who had an affair with her husband. Sharing the update that they have caught the woman's brother, Jeha discusses the matter with Seok Junyoung. Having cut his bindings on the steel parts of the chair, Mongryong has ran before being cornered on a rooftop. Not wanting to be beaten further and concluding they needed him to draw his sister out, Mongryong jumps[3] and lands on the roof of another building. Mongryong intends to run to the mountain across the road. Doosan is driving the car that hits Mongryong, and Jeha is also present. After Mongryong bites Jeha, he manages to escape. Elsewhere, Junyoung discusses with a sister monk how he has not been able to get in touch with Mongryong for days. The sister mentions since Hyeyoung came down to Namwon last month she had mentioned how she had met a nice person and might not be able to come and meet them as often anymore. Outside, Junyoung comes across Mongryong's Buddhist prayer beads which have blood on it. In a secluded forested area, Mongryong passes out.[4] It is recalled how Junyoung was informed that student Lee Mongryong is waiting for him inside. As a prosecutor, Junyoung asked if Mongryong did it. After visiting him in a detention centre, Junyoung was there to congratulate Mongryong when he was released. Presently, Mongryong is with an ex-boyfriend, Kim Sunghyun and details how he was found by a mister that was hiking. As he is worried what to do, Mongryong hears Sunghyun detailing a stun gun to a customer so acquires it.[5]
In a parking lot, Nim is informed Mongryong has been tracked down at a friend's shop but by the time they got there he was already gone without a trace. With Jeha alone, Mongryong reveals his presence behind him in his car where he has a knife. After knocking him out with the stun gun, Mongryong and Sunghyun drive him to a location where Jeha is handcuffed to a bed. As Sunghyun is filming, it dawns on Jeha what Mongryong intends to do with him.[6] After performing acts on Jeha that Sunghyun records, Mongryong tells him to not look for his sister or himself. One more thing Mongryong raises is whether Jeha has an older brother or a younger sibling since he seems familiar. Thinking nothing more of it, Mongryong leaves Jeha in the hotel room. Jeha thinks the next time it will be his turn.[7] Mongryong knocks on the door of Sunghyun's store and it met by an employee. Seeing he has been attacked, Mongryong hears he cannot come here anymore. Sunghyun is being hit by Nim and is asked where Mongryong is. A motorbike signals the arrival of Mongryong, who is armed with a baseball bat. While Nim claims Mongryong will die today, others around discuss what he means that Jeha was moaning under him. When Nim orders him captured, and Mongryong intends to fight, a phone call changes the order to bring him with them, and Sunghye will be let go. Mongryong agrees to the terms.[8]
In an office Junyoung learns from a colleague that Cho and Hyeyoung were having an affair. The colleague details how they have disappeared, with a portion of Director Cho's assets having gone as well. As Mongryong is led, he speaks of his mother visiting him in his dream. From a window, Jeha fires a gun round near Mongryong. As Mongryong sits handcuffed in a chair, Jeha mentions how he will not reveal anything about Hyeyoung's whereabouts, but where is the phone that was used to film him. With Mongryong raising how Jeha would regret losing him since he is good with his mouth, Jeha says for him to prove it and has the handcuffs unlocked. As Mongryong is forced on Jeha he turns to see someone he has been searching for, namely Junyoung.[9] Sitting in a daze, after a guard snaps his fingers, Mongryong comes to his senses and tearfully asks whether Junyoung is really the older brother to Jeha. When Jeha hears from Junyoung, he infers their relationship is more special than he thought. While Junyoung presses Jeha to let Mongryong go, he intends to keep him as a hostage to catch Hyeyoung. While he is asked to leave with Junyoung, concerned at what would happen if Hyeyoung were caught, Mongryong stays with Jeha in case of that eventuality. As Mongryong walks Junyoung out he asks to hug him. While saying it is not like they will not see each other again, Jeha is observing them both.[10]
