Aoao is a character from Dragon in Distress, a manhua by two authors and illustrators, Si Wang Wen Hua and Yao Yao. Due to the lack of power he has, Aoao takes to searching the mortal realm for it. While he has memories of the supernatural entities he comes across, Aoao has no recollection of Ryan who expresses familiarity with him.

A part of the dragon clan, Aoao's father is the Dragon King, and he was born into his kingdom which is situated underwater. Appearing humanoid himself and living among others like him, Aoao found the innate abilities expected of him did not manifest, and when they did their time was limited.
Although comments towards his capabilities were not mean-spirited, Aoao was still affected by the disappointment he felt in them. In response, Aoao as a five hundred year old child resorted to running away from home to seek out power so he could become who he was expected to be. During his days as a wanderer Aoao traversed artic locations, mountainous ones and a location where kangaroos existed.
Becoming a young man, at some point Aoao had become aware of posters from his elder brother seeking news on his location. Also at some point Aoao came to live with the Earth god Tudi Yeye. Asked to call him Grandpa, Aoao asks why should he when he is a thousand years older than him.
Unsure how Ryan could detect his scent as a dragon, Aoao had taken measures to mask it. He is surprised to find that Ryan has a piece of dragon scale, yet has no memories of gifting it to him as he claimed. Unable to turn into his dragon form, Aoao is however able to recall heading to Rooiboos Mountain. Asserting his memory to be brilliant, when Aoao was cultivating he heard there were dragons there so went to visit. As it happens, Aoao just doesn't have memories of Ryan.
Characteristics[]
Definitely not afraid of thunder outside the classroom
Evidently headstrong, Aoao does not waver in his commitment to find what he is after. It is not so much patience that comes into it, but an unwavering determination and not giving up even when what he is searching for is not found. His sense of time on account of his extensive age may factor into this, though after hundreds of years Aoao is not remotely daunted at his lack of progress. Walking his way across the mortal realm seems done for the sake of it, he is certainly in no rush but is ever-focused on locating items of value.
Resolute in other matters, Aoao is comically startled around others. Alarmed to find Ryan behind him, Aoao is also aghast when a question about his brother comes up. With so many weird questions, Aoao suspects Ryan was sent to capture him. Having the intuition to suspect that, Aoao also takes measures to misdirect those he is wary of no matter how harmless they may seem. Accordingly, Aoao answers that he has no other relatives and leaves out his dragon related ones.
To himself Aoao thinks he would not be so afraid if he could have found the Mystic Dragon Pearl earlier. Wary that people around him may also be in danger, Aoao is concerned for Ryan after a car plows into them. For the bad luck he experiences, Aoao sends Ryan away. Finding he thinks of Ryan's face the moment he closes his eyes, and in hearing that Ryan likes to be around him, Aoao nearly forgot that he was in heat. For his interactions, Aoao considers his own situation and the demenour of others in making decisions.
Affected in more ways than one at others commenting on his lack of powers, part of the reason why Aoao is reluctant to return home is he feels everyone will make fun of him. Found by his brother who means to take him back home, Aoao implores Tudi to save him.
Aspirations[]
Focusing on finding magical artefacts
Acquiring power, namely from magical objects is his sole motivation. Joining the school he is at, Aoao's priority is to find the Mystic Dragon Pearl that can bequeath him such power. Believing that the dragon associated with it might be dead, nonetheless Aoao has read that the pearl is still in the mortal realm. Knowledge is sought if in turn it can help lead to such objects.
Not intrigued by Ryan implying he knows him, Aoao at first remains set on his long-held goal. Claiming to go to the lavatory but escaping from Ryan out the window, Aoao has more important things to do than reminisce about the past with someone he does not even remember. With the day of the Havenly Tribulation coming, he is conscious to find items he is after before then.
When a teacher asks who wants to go to Ryan's house to find out where he is, Aoao goes. Concerned that Ryan is injured from yesterday, Aoao barges through the front door.
Capabilities[]
Not remembering his own dragon scale
Expected to have the capabilities of a dragon, Aoao found he was not actually able to raise a tsunami, neither summon storms. Riding on clouds and mist was an ability Aoao possessed though the duration did not last for long. Rather than a complete lack of abilities, some simply cannot yet be used while others are in some capacity.
Deployable abilities are not the only ones Aoao is involved in. Even if Aoao does not have the powers expected of him, he is still capable of some such as sensing auras emitted by magical based objects. Being able to recognize concealed demons and spirits is also helpful for him. An innate ability of sorts dampened the numbing effects of a paralysis based attack from a spirit.
Though he himself is currently unable to assume a dragon form, that may fall under the abilities Aoao is not able to access as he is now. From Ryan's words it would seem Aoao had bequeathed a light blue dragon scale. Aoao was unconvinced it could be from himself though as the scale was large.
