Characters[]
Jeong Dojun[]
Learning others have been commenting on a photo of him, Dojun tells a friend she should be pitying him instead of spreading rumors. Feeling responsible for breaking the arm of his high school friend and roommate, Dojun thinks how he has become his slave, before revising his thoughts to that of being his boyfriend. Initially mortified to learn that Jaehee is his roommate, Dojun thinks he would not have ghosted him if he knew they would meet again. Hearing Jaehee say he has given up now, Dojun is relieved as he does not have a reason to be uncomfortable. Wondering if it is his fault that Jaehee broke his arm since it was done to prevent himself tripping down the stairs, Dojun considers he does not have money to pay him but does resolve to make amends via appreciation. Handing Jaehee some papers, Dojun states it is the expected test questions list which is only passed down to the frat members. Also promising to help with economics, and do Jaehee's one assignment, Dojun is confident in his academic abilities. In his rejections of Jaehee's feelings, Dojun evaluates whether he was harsh. His words are often in contrast to how he really feels.
Song Jaehee[]
Mentioning how Dojun had better hold his voice in since others may hear through the walls, Jaehee is aware that the building was built recently. Wiping his hand over Dojun's clothes, for his concerns that they are now dirty when he has to leave, Jaehee points out they were already sweaty. Removing Dojun's top, Jaehee places clean clothes of his own on him. Happy when greeting him, Jaehee wonders if Dojun remembers that he was his crush. Stating how love is free, Jaehee details how he tried talking to him but was ignored. Mentioning he called like two hundred times, Jaehee comments that Dojun was really mean. Speaking how the past is the past, Jaehee then merrily says for them to get along. With it addressed that he is following him, Jaehee changes the subject by offering Dojun his drink. Thinking how lying about giving up on him is not working anymore, Jaehee feels he has to come up with something else. Despite having his arm broken after Jaehee intervened to prevent Dojun from tripping down some stairs, he remains upbeat. Not interested in his offer to help with assignments, what Jaehee is interested in is Dojun.
Dojun's Friend[]
Pleased to see Dojun in the lecture hall who she addresses as S. Man, meaning slave man, she cannot contain her excitement at a photo of him carrying goods for others. Having heard the guys were fighting over a girl and Dojun lost, she tells him to not be upset, it is okay to lose.
Yongsik[]
A name called when two men are searching for a room number.
Taxi Driver[]
Shocked, he asks Jaehee what happened to his arm. Initiating a rant, he shares how Kim had his arm broken, yet kind of deserved it since he does not pay his money back. For borrowing it a while ago, he knew this would happen to him someday.
Kim[]
The company's Mr. Kim is mentioned by a taxi driver. His account is detailed to Dojun and Jaehee where he got hit by someone drunk, so he cannot even hold a steering wheel now.
Jun-Young Kim[]
In the past he was a student who confronted Jaehee over his assignment.
Story[]
Jeong Dojun enters the lecture theatre to find an acquaintance there who is happy to see him. Referring to him as S. Man, she clarifies Dojun is business major student ID: 18, Slave Man. Showing him a phone, it is of Dojun carrying items for others. Dojun's friend has heard the rumor it is because he lost a fight over a girl. While saying he did not fight or become a slave, Dojun thinks how he broke the arm of his high school friend, colleague and roommate, so has become his four weeks slave. Dojun then thinks in fact he has become his boyfriend, but he cannot go about telling the truth to everyone.
Previously, Dojun was attempting to leave, before Song Jaehee reminded him that yesterday he said intimacy is something that can be done with anyone, so it is okay to do it with someone one is dating. Hearing people speaking on the other side of the door, Dojun and Jaehee remain quiet as someone named Yongsik is called to. When Dojun needed to leave and felt his clothes were not too creased, Jaehee wiped his hand over them. Sharing that they were dirty already, rather than Dojun heading out in them, Jaehee presents him his clean clothes to wear.
Presently in the lecture theatre, as Dojun's friend teases him, Dojun contemplates to himself how he does not know what is right or wrong.[1] It is recalled at the start of the semester how Dojun arrived in his room to find Jaehee there. Wondering what was wrong with the admissions office for assigning a room like this, Dojun considered if he knew they would meet again he would not have ghosted Jaehee. As Jaehee detailed his past feelings for him, Dojun put it down to a teenage crush. After Jaehee purports that he has moved on, Dojun is relieved.
Walking together, Dojun complains that since the first day Jaehee has been following him for two weeks. Reasoning that they are in the same major and live together, Jaehee replies for him to not worry about it. After Dojun orders him to stop following, Jaehee thinks he has to try something else given that lying about giving up is not working. In reminding him to stop following, Dojun tripped down some stairs. When Jaehee attempted to stop that, he broke his arm.
In a taxi together, Dojun wonders if this is his fault. Noticing Jaehee's arm in a sling, the taxi driver rants at how company member Kim's arm was broken, where a messy suing ensured. While Dojun wills the driver to be please be quiet, Jaehee speaks how he will be sure to get his settlement, glancing to his side all the while. Back in their room, Dojun passes some papers to Jaehee, where he is willing to make amends for his perceived fault. They are of likely questions that exams may concern, and Dojun also says he will do Jaehee's assignment.
When Dojun hears Jaehee is not interested in his offer of academic assistance, he wonders if there is a chance for a bargain. After Dojun questions what he is interested in, Jaehee pulls him close and answers he is interested in him.[2]
